Similar Stories to New Protections For Endangered Sierra Frogs, Toad on Bing News

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Two types of endangered yellow-legged frogs and a toad found in Yosemite National Park have won new protections from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Federal officials on Thursday declared nearly 3,000 square miles of California's Sierra Nevada mountains as critical habitats for the three species. The designation means extra controls on activities in the area that could threaten the frogs and toad. The Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog, the mountain yellow-legged frog, and the Yosemite toad once were plentiful in wet areas of the Sierra.Read more on NewsOK.com
