Aedes aegypti mosquito is the primary transmitter of the Zika virus in the current outbreak. Daily Journal reports JACKSON – An Oktibbeha County resident is one of two people with travel-associated cases of the Zika virus confirmed Monday by the Mississippi State Department of Health. This year, 11 Mississippi residents have tested positive for the virus, which currently spreading in 30 countries, primarily in the Caribbean, Central and South America.
