With 15 full seasons of high school baseball coaching under his belt, Green Mountain’s Brad Madden has won three state titles to make for an absurd rate of one championship every five years. Madden won the Class 4A state championship with Golden in 2003, where he spent eight years. And now, in his 16th spring on the bench and eighth at the helm of Green Mountain — where he led the Rams to consecutive 4A titles in 2014 and 2015 — Madden’s squad is looking capable of adding a fourth ring to the coach’s hand. “The recent tradition here plays into our success because it drives the kids — they want to be the group that keeps it going,” Madden said.
