NEWPORT — Salve Regina University's 68th undergraduate class, which received its diplomas Sunday on the tented oceanside lawn behind McAuley Hall, was part of the largest graduating class in the university's history.The school, founded as a Catholic college by the Sisters of Mercy, admitted 58 students into its first class in 1947.
