Fighting between government troops and ethnic rebels in Burma's northeastern state of Kachin has killed at least 22 people this month, state-run media reported Sunday. The clashes took place despite efforts by the government to forge a nationwide cease-fire agreement with all armed ethnic groups. At least 42 people were killed Sunday in southern Pakistan after a bus slammed into a tractor-trailer in one of the worst traffic accidents in the country in years, officials said.
