There was no stopping "Limitless" at the box office. The sci-fi thriller opened at No. 1 this weekend with $19 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. The film from Relativity Media stars Bradley Cooper as a struggling writer who takes a magical pill that allows him to tap into his maximum brain potential. Suddenly he's cleaned up, making millions and wowing everyone he meets. Robert De Niro co-stars as a financial guru who's fascinated by him, with Abbie Cornish as Cooper's skeptical girlfriend.

In a boost for Relativity Media's new marketing and distribution operation, Bradley Cooper starrer Limitless opened to No. 1 at the Friday box office, grossing an estimated $6.6 million from 2,756 theaters. After that, it was a tight race between the two other new movies, the Matthew McConaughy legal thriller The Lincoln Lawyer and Universal's sci-fi comedy Paul, and two holdovers, Battle: Los Angeles and sleeper hit Rango.

Julia Roberts has had a fairy tale career, playing the heroine and good girl, but now, she's set to turn that reputation on its head in perhaps the most famous fairy tale of all.The Oscar winner and "Eat Pray Love" star has been officially cast as the Evil Queen in a new film adaptation of "Snow White," producers Relativity Media confirmed on Tuesday.The story won't be all mirror-mirror and frills and tiny dwarves, however. Relativity said that the movie "will eschew the traditional story in favor of a more modern tale full of comedy and adventure."

Screen Gems is back in good form with thriller The Roommate, which easily beat Universal/Relativity’s 3D Sanctum at the Friday box office in grossing an estimated $6.4 million from 2,534 screens. Sanctum, executive produced by James Cameron, grossed an estimated $3.6 million from 2,787 runs, including more than 2,000 3D runs. The Australian adventure-thriller also is playing in 178 Imax theaters.

"True Grit" seized the reins at the weekend box office with $15 million, taking the No. 1 spot and becoming the first Western to top the $100 million mark since the 1990s.

Relativity Media’s Season of the Witch opened to an estimated $3.7 million from 2,816 theaters at the Friday box office to place No. 3 behind Paramount’s True Grit -- which all but jumped the $100 million mark -- and Universal’s Little Fockers.
