The actinide ( / ˈæktɪnaɪd /) or actinoid ( / ˈæktɪnɔɪd /) series encompasses at least the 14 metallic chemical elements in the 5f series, with atomic numbers from 89 to 102, actinium through nobelium. (Number 103, lawrencium, is sometimes also included despite being part of the 6d transition series.)
Actinides on the Periodic Table (Actinide Series or Actinoids)
The actinides are a group of 15 elements found on the bottom row of the periodic table. The group is also known as the actinide series or the actinoids (the term preferred by the IUPAC). The elements run from atomic number 89 to atomic number 103.
Actinides (Actinide Series) Element Properties - ThoughtCo
At the bottom of the periodic table is a special group of metallic radioactive elements called actinides or actinoids. These elements, usually considered ranging from atomic number 89 to atomic number 103 on the periodic table, have interesting properties, and play a key role in nuclear chemistry.
Actinides: History, Occurence, Properties, and Uses - The Chemistry Notes
Actinides are elements with atomic numbers ranging from 90 to 103, which come after the element Actinium. They include eleven transuranic elements, or those created artificially through nuclear reactions, as well as naturally occurring forms of thorium, protactinium, and uranium.
Recent Advances in Actinide Science - Royal Society of Chemistry
Bringing together contributions from the leading experts in the field, Recent Advances in Actinide Science covers six main topics: * Analysis, the environment and biotransformations * Coordination and organometallic chemistry * Heavy elements * Nuclear fuels, materials and waste forms * Separations and solution chemistry * Spectroscopy ...
