The village lies 2 miles (3.2 km) north-west of Bracknell , 3 miles (4.8 km) north-east of Wokingham , and 8 miles (13 km) south-east of Reading at the westernmost extremity of the Greater London Urban Area .
RBH: History of Binfield, Berkshire
Binfield Manor was built in 1754, for Sir William Pitt (a distant cousin of Pitt the Elder, Earl of Chatham), at a cost of £36,000. In 1816, John Constable (the artist) stayed at the rectory on his honeymoon and twice sketched the church. All Saints Church is a mostly 15th century building with some interesting fittings.

In 1226 Henry III granted to the church of All Saints of Binfield a piece of ground for making a courtyard. (fn. 50) In 1347 the abbot paid £20 for a licence to appropriate the church. (fn. 51) At the Dissolution, however, the living appears to have been a rectory, (fn. 52) as it still remains.
