Bob Marshall Wilderness - Wikipedia
The Bob Marshall Wilderness Area is a congressionally-designated wilderness area located in Western Montana region of the United States. It is named after Bob Marshall (1901–1939), an early forester in the federal government, conservationist, and co-founder of The Wilderness Society.

Snow covers most all of The Bob until mid-April at the earliest. Peak backpacking weather is June through October. As the snow begins to melt in May, rivers become swollen with runoff. There are very few bridges in The Bob, so fording rivers is common and to be expected.

Considered by many to be the “crown jewel” of the Wilderness system, the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex is comprised of over 1.5 million acres of untrammeled wilderness that stretches from Glacier National Park in the north, to Rogers Pass to the south in the northern Rockies of Montana.
