The calcium-sensing receptor in physiology and in calcitropic ... - Nature
This Review focuses on the evolutionary origins, structure and signalling pathways of the Ca2+-sensing receptor (CaSR), as well as the roles of the CaSR in calcitropic and noncalcitropic diseases.
CASR Gene - GeneCards | CASR Protein | CASR Antibody
CASR (Calcium Sensing Receptor) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CASR include Hyperparathyroidism, Neonatal Severe and Hypocalciuric Hypercalcemia, Familial, Type I. Among its related pathways are GPCR downstream signalling and Class A/1 (Rhodopsin-like receptors).
Calcium-sensing receptor - Wikipedia
The calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) is a Class C G-protein coupled receptor which senses extracellular levels of calcium ions. It is primarily expressed in the parathyroid gland, the renal tubules of the kidney and the brain. In the parathyroid gland, it controls calcium homeostasis by regulating the release of parathyroid hormone (PTH).
Calcium-Sensing Receptor (CaSR), Its Impact on Inflammation and the ...
The calcium Sensing Receptor (CaSR) is a cell surface receptor belonging to the family of G-protein coupled receptors. CaSR is mainly expressed by parathyroid glands, kidneys, bone, skin, adipose tissue, the gut, the nervous system, and the cardiovascular system.
CASR gene: MedlinePlus Genetics
The CASR gene provides instructions for making a protein called the calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR). Calcium molecules attach (bind) to CaSR, which allows this protein to monitor and regulate the amount of calcium in the blood. The receptor is turned on (activated) when a certain concentration of calcium is reached, and the activated receptor ...
