Cattaraugus County, New York - Wikipedia
Cattaraugus County (locally known as Catt County) is a county in Western New York, with one side bordering Pennsylvania. As of the United States 2020 census, the population was 77,042. The county seat is Little Valley. The county was created in 1808 and later organized in 1817. The county is part of the Western New York region of the state.

Cattaraugus | Native American, Seneca Nation, Allegany Reservation
Cattaraugus, county, southwestern New York state, U.S., consisting of a ruggedly hilly region bounded by Cattaraugus Creek to the north and Pennsylvania to the south. It is drained by the Allegheny River and Ischua and Great Valley creeks. Surrounding Allegheny Reservoir are Allegany Indian.
History - VILLAGE OF CATTARAUGUS
The Village of Cattaraugus has a rich history; the first "white" settlers in the area arrived as early as 1818. Prior to this time, the land was settled by the Seneca Nation of Indians. The Village was originally part of the Town of Little Valley and was separated from it in February 1830.
