Edward I (17 June 1237 – 7 July 1307) nicknamed the Tall, the Brave, the Lord, the Hammer and as well as Longshanks (meaning 'long legs') was the King of England from 1272 until his death in 1307. He was the son of King Henry III of England and Queen Eleanor of Provence .
