FAMM is against mandatory minimums for ANY and ALL offenses. Mandatory minimum sentences are set by Congress and state lawmakers. They require judges to impose automatic, minimum prison terms for certain offenses. One-size-fits-all sentences are not based on the individual person and do not take into account each individual’s situation.

Second Look Laws. People change. Their sentences should, too. Second look laws allow decision-makers such as courts or parole boards to reevaluate a person's sentence after a sufficient period of time served in prison and determine if that sentence is still necessary.
