Hierapolis (/ ˌ h aɪ ə ˈ r æ p ə l ɪ s /; Ancient Greek: Ἱεράπολις, lit. "Holy City") was originally a Phrygian cult centre of the Anatolian mother goddess of Cybele and later a Greek city.
