21.3 Kirchhoff’s Rules - College Physics for AP® Courses 2e - OpenStax
The rules are known as Kirchhoff’s rules, after their inventor Gustav Kirchhoff (1824–1887). Figure 21.21 This circuit cannot be reduced to a combination of series and parallel connections. Kirchhoff’s rules, special applications of the laws of conservation of charge and energy, can be used to analyze it.
Kirchhoff's laws (article) | Circuits | Khan Academy
Written by Willy McAllister. Kirchhoff's Laws for current and voltage lie at the heart of circuit analysis. With these two laws, plus the equations for individual component (resistor, capacitor, inductor), we have the basic tool set we need to start analyzing circuits.
