Esgaroth - Wikipedia
Esgaroth, or Lake-town, is a fictional community of Men upon the Long Lake that appears in the 1937 novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. Constructed entirely of wood and standing upon wooden pillars sunk into the lake-bed, the town is south of the Lonely Mountain and east of Mirkwood.

Published Jan 8, 2023. Lake-town was destroyed by Smaug's dragon fire at the end of The Hobbit, and afterward things only became more chaotic for this quiet settlement. During The Hobbit, Lake-town served as the final stop before Bilbo and the Dwarves reentered Erebor to reclaim their home.
