Navel orangeworm: A costly pest in almonds - Farm Progress
The navel orangeworm, Amyelois transitella, can cause serious economic losses for almond growers, more than $1,700 per acre when 20 percent of the nut crop is damaged. Control of the pest was among topics at the recent Nickels Soil Lab annual field day at Arbuckle, sponsored by the University of California Cooperative Extension.
