Salome (/ s ə ˈ l oʊ m i /; Hebrew: שְלוֹמִית, romanized: Shlomit, related to שָׁלוֹם, Shalom "peace"; Greek: Σαλώμη), also known as Salome III, was a Jewish princess, the daughter of Herod II (son of Herod the Great) and princess Herodias.

Salome is one of the two leftmost women with a halo. In the New Testament, Salome was a follower of Jesus who appears briefly in the canonical gospels and in apocryphal writings. She is named by Mark as present at the crucifixion and as one of the Myrrhbearers, the women who found Jesus's empty tomb.

SALOME sə lō’ mǐ (Σαλώμη, G4897, peaceful). 1. One of the women who followed Jesus in Galilee and ministered to Him (Mark 15:40, 41). A comparison between Matthew 27:56 and Mark 15:40; 16:1, 2 identifies her as the wife of Zebedee, and therefore mother of James and John.
