To many, the Surf Ballroom is an American cultural icon as well as an important historical landmark. The original Surf Ballroom was built in 1933 and destroyed by fire in 1947. The Surf Ballroom was rebuilt in 1948, across the street from the original location.

All the memorabilia. Present building was built and opened in 1948. Original dance floor, booths etc. Many many big name bands and performers played here. We recently enjoyed a night of dancing at the Surf Ballroom to the music of Hunter Fuerste Big Band/Orchestra. Wonderful fun night. The Surf is listed as a National Historic Landmark.
