NEW PALTZ - A tire blowout is being blamed for a spectacular two-alarm bus fire on the Thruway Wednesday afternoon.The Adirondack Trailways bus was carrying 52 passengers, when the rear tire on the driver's side of the bus blew out at mile marker 75.8 in a northbound lane of the Thruway, said New Paltz First Assistant Fire Chief Cory Wirthmann.Most of the passengers were SUNY New Paltz students who were heading back to school, though there were a few senior citizens.
