RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina's U.S. Senate race has intensified with Republican incumbent Richard Burr running his first television attack ad against Democrat Deborah Ross, focusing on the state's sex offender registry created in the 1990s while she lobbied for a civil rights group. Burr's campaign commercial airing Tuesday accuses Ross of opposing the registry while working at the American Civil Liberties Union.
