Northrop Grumman’s plans for a big rocket turned on its side this week. That’s because it blew nearly 340,000 pounds of solid propellant during a static fire test of the second stage of its new OmegA rocket affixed in a horizontal position at its test facility in Promontory, Utah on Thursday.
