A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy in Pompano Beach Saturday morning, officials say. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office are now investigating the crash. About 5:30 a.m., BSO Pompano Beach District deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to the crash near the 1500 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, according to a media release.

The list of potential schools in Broward County that could face closure has gotten smaller, with most concentrated in the southern half of the county. At least five schools are expected to be recommended to the School Board on June 18 for closure or an overhaul during the 2025-26 school year.

Fegans first played his high school at Oxford before transferring to Thompson, where he recorded 45 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions, and 12 passes defended his senior year for the Warriors. He was highly sought after, with offers from Miami, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and UCF.
