Nyt: Prosecutors May Charge Cohen With Fraud

The Libertarian Party has "never figured out whether or not they are an informational organizationor an actual political party that runs candidates who are credible and can win," says Nick Gillespie, Editor-at-Large for Reason. "The closest they came was Gary Johnson in 2016. And the current leadership of the LP sees that as an embarrassment, because he wasn't principled enough.

The global fertility rate has fallen from 5 births per woman in 1950 to 2.3 in 2021 - and even lower in the U. S., partly due to the cost of child-rearing and shifts in priorities. But "falling population and an elderly or aging population puts a lot of fiscal and economic pressures on society," says Economics Professor Melissa Kearney.

A viewer tweeted that the Trump hush money trial raises the concern that we are "so divided as a country that juries can't deliver justice without politics being in play." Smerconish agrees.

Previewing the upcoming closing arguments, former prosecutor Elie Honig posits, "Michael Cohen's not even the star witness in this case. The star witness in this case are the documents." But Defense Attorney William J. Brennan counters, "You have two lawyers on that jury. They're not going to just do a knee-jerk.

The American flag has become so much more associated with one party and candidate that many refrain from flying it, even on patriotic holidays. And that, says CNN's Michael Smerconish, is a shame.

Why is the Libertarian party ceding the spotlight to the leading GOP and Independent candidates, instead of elevating candidates of its own? "It would be amazing if they sign on to somebody like Donald Trump or RFK Jr. whorefuse to call themselves Libertarian," says Reason Editor at Large Nick Gillespie.
