A recent three-day Florida getaway for several Oakland University administrators, staff and trustees was intended to drum up donor support for the Rochester-area school, whose state funding lags far behind its ever-increasing student population size, and to allow board members to discuss pressing issues facing the university, according to one of the board members in attendance.
