Ocean Salmon Fishing Season Closes

ILWACO — Ocean salmon fishing off southern Washington and northern Oregon closed effective today. The closure applies between Cape Falcon, in Oregon near Manzanita, and Leadbetter Point at the northern tip of Long Beach Peninsula. The closure does not apply inside the Columbia River, including the popular Buoy 10 fishery. Ocean anglers were projected to have taken their quota of 18,900 coho by Saturday night. Buoy 10 — State officials will allow the retention of any chinook at Buoy 10 on Sept.
