Officers, Firefighters, First Responders Take On Active Shooter Training

As the culture of crime changes, so does how police officers react to it. Police departments from around the county participated recently in an active shooter training facilitated by the Oakland County Law Enforcement Tactical Response Coordinating Group. Inside an empty office tower in Southfield, officers from the 40 police agencies in OakTac took part in multiple training exercises, primarily focused on integrating fire department personnel and EMS first responders into active shooter situations.
