Sweeney, a 24-year-old super utility player, has been the offensive catalyst for the Oklahoma City Dodgers, particularly the past two weeks. He entered Saturday’s game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on a six-game hitting streak in which he is 12 for 24 with seven extra-base hits — including three home runs — to raise his average to .295 in the same week he was named a Pacific Coast League All-Star starter at second base. Not bad for a guy who struggled at times early in the year. “I’m just finally getting comfortable in the box and finally being able to put good swings on balls, barrel balls up and it just happens to carry out of the park,” Sweeney said.Read more on NewsOK.com
