Oklahoma-filmed Drama 'wildlife' Nominated For Three Independent Spirit Awards

By Brandy McDonnellThe period drama "Wildlife," which was filmed largely in Enid and the surrounding area, has been nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards."Wildlife" received nods for Best First Feature for director Paul Dano, Best Female Lead for Carey Mulligan and Best Cinematography for Diego Garcia.As previously reported, Dano and his partner, actress/screenwriter Zoe Kazan, adapted "Wildlife" from Richard Ford’s 1990 novel, optioning the novel themselves and spending three years working on the screenplay between acting projects.A 1960 period drama, “Wildlife” centers on a teenager (Ed Oxenbould) who watches his parents’ marriage crumble shortly after the family moves from Idaho to Montana, a trek the couple even recreated during the writing process.“We actually learned so much doing it, including what we needed in a location shoot.Read more on NewsOK.com
