Until Thursday, utilities were concerned about a heightened threat of blackouts as historically low temperatures and a shortage of natural gas threatened an uncontrolled outage. As part of efforts to prevent blackouts, much of the downtown Oklahoma City skyline went dark and the city turned off lighting at its properties including the iconic Skydance Bridge over Interstate 40. “Our conservation efforts are working, and we thank our customers for voluntarily reducing energy usage during this difficult time,” said David Kimmel, OG&E spokesperson.Read more on NewsOK.com
