By Ray Van Dusen Monroe Journal Two people were sent to the hospital after a one-vehicle accident Tuesday morning. The Mississippi Highway Patrol worked the scene on Highway 23 near the Monroe/Itawamba County line at approximately 10:30 a.m., according to MHP spokesman Criss Turnipseed. The driver of a 2003 Ford Taurus, 73-year-old Hershel Duckworth, of Saltillo, and his passenger were traveling south on Highway 23 before running off the road into a ditch.
