The passenger in a Jeep Wrangler was killed in a single-vehicle crash near the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs early Friday morning. The Jeep was heading east on Nichols Boulevard before crashing into a bridge wall at N. Hancock Avenue, according to police. The driver of the Jeep was taken into custody after the passenger of the vehicle died in the crash, according to Gazette news partner KKTV. "It's important to realize that when you're out driving at night you need to be paying attention to your surroundings and make sure you're negotiating the turns as they come up," said Sergeant Dan Carter with Colorado Springs police to KKTV.
