Outbuilding Fire Sparks Brush In Northeast Colorado Springs

Firefighters responded to a brush fire near East Woodmen and North Marksheffel roads Friday afternoon. The fire, which started in an outbuilding and spread to the surrounding area, was reported at about 3:18 p.m., said Capt. Steve Wilch, a spokesman for the Colorado Springs Fire Department. Smoke from the blaze was visible for more than 8 miles away.
