A top aide to Hillary Clinton on Wednesday doubled down on her criticism of how Donald Trump won the election, saying it's time for the president-elect to acknowledge how his campaign "empowered" the white-nationalist movement. Less than a week after a typically cordial post-election event at Harvard University turned bitter as recriminations flew between Clinton and Trump staffers, Clinton campaign communications director Jennifer Palmieri urged the president-elect in a Washington Post op-ed to unite the country by demonstrating some "introspection" about how the election was won.Denouncing Trump's repeated retweets of white nationalists and his association with top adviser and Breitbart News executive Steve Bannon, as well as the praise he earned from former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke, Palmieri wrote, "I don’t know whether the Trump campaign needed to give a platform to white supremacists to win.
