The Legislature’s budget-writing committee on Thursday unanimously approved Gov. Paul LePage’s nomination for state finance director, clearing the way for his likely confirmation by the state Senate. The Appropriations and Financial Affairs committee voted 12-0 to approve Richard Rosen, a former Republican state lawmaker from Bucksport. If confirmed by the full Senate, Rosen will become the commissioner for the Department of Administrative and Financial Services.
