Frances Kakugawa of Sacramento was 5 years old and living in Hawaii when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese. She remembers it as a time of confusion, but the questions it raised for her now inform her writing and poetry.She was 5 years old and attending a birthday party when she learned about Pearl Harbor.
