(AP) — A western Pennsylvania county jail plans to start offering online video visits with inmates next month as a way to raise money for the county. The video visits should prevent long wait times for visitors and save fuel and travel costs for the families of inmates who will no longer have to drive to the jail, Walton said. The video equipment has been installed, and jail officials plan to offer free visits during a two-week trial period next month.
