WASHINGTON – Rep. Peter King, R-New York, a 14-term congressman and former chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, said he is retiring, becoming the 20th House Republican to announce that he will not seek re-election next year. In a statement, King, 75, said he made the decision after “much discussion” with his wife and children. “The prime reason for my decision was that after 28 years of spending 4 days a week in Washington, D.C., it is time to end the weekly commute and be home in Seaford,” King said in a statement.
