Multibillionaire Peter Thiel’s desire for revenge has led him to do a wild but entirely legal thing. According to reports in Forbes and the New York Times, the PayPal co-founder and Facebook investor secretly financed the invasion-of-privacy lawsuit filed by wrestler Hulk Hogan against Gawker. Thiel’s apparent motive was retaliation: The site outed Thiel as a homosexual in a December 2007 article and continues to bird-dog his political views and tax-paying practices.
