Phoenix-based PetSmart Inc. has named a new CEO as the company struggles to find the right balance between online and brick-and-mortar retail. Earlier this week, the pet-retailer named J.K. Symancyk to the top position in the company. He will start on June 11 and will take a place on the company’s board of directors. Symancyk has more than 25 years of experience in the retail industry, most recently serving as president and CEO of Academy Sports + Outdoors, a Texas-based sports retailer.
