The long-awaited Bartram's Mile Trail officially opened on Earth Day this past weekend, and officials said its debut would give West Philadelphia's Bartram's Garden a boost in attendance. A boost in vistation for Bartram's Garden would be a boon for the region, which has reaped millions of dollars in economic impact from Greater Philadelphia's gardens. The 1.1-mile Bartram’s Mile Trail opened over the weekend, lengthening the Schuylkill River Trail from Grays Ferry Avenue to 56th Street.
