ED HOLLIDAY Should Mississippi be part of the “SEC primary?” Some Mississippians are insistent that future presidential primaries be held on the first Tuesday of March in conjunction with other southern states. The “SEC primary” involves primary elections in many southern states on March 1. Mississippi’s Republican and Democratic primaries will be held on March 8. Before we change our primary date, we should see how 2016 goes because Mississippi politics could be pivotal to both parties.
