Citizens are being advised to avoid the area of Hilltp Drive and Cedar Street in Lake in the Hills due to reported police activity, according to a Nixle alert sent at 4:33 p.m. by the Lake in the Hills Police Department. The alert asked to avoid the area until further notice but did not elaborate on what the police activity was. A second Nixle alert sent at 5:31 p.m.
