Police Make Multiple Arrests At Portland Apartment Complex

Several people were taken into custody at the Wellesley Estates apartment complex off outer Forest Avenue in Portland Sunday. Portland police said that the department’s special reaction and crisis negotiation teams helped South Portland police in delivering a search warrant at unit 102 at the complex. A search was conducted at the unit in connection with a violent crime in South Portland Saturday night, Portland police said. Police said the residents in the unit refused to cooperate with officers, who delivered the warrant at 10:40 a.m., and several were taken into custody. No injuries were reported. Residents at the complex said a half-dozen police officers with guns drawn approached unit 102 at one point.
