A Columbus police sergeant acted within policy last fall when he shot and killed a suicidal woman on the Northwest Side. Sgt. Jeffrey Baker shot Julie Caudill, 43, at her Ponset Street house on Oct. 25, 2013, after she opened the door holding a handgun.
