Housed in a former warehouse in Minneapolis' gentrifying North Loop neighborhood, the 124-room Hewing pays tribute to the city's once mighty logging industry with six stories of wood flooring, framing, and paneling. Wallpaper featuring fish and moose evoke locals' love for the outdoors, and "Minnesotans have returned the love" by crowding Tullibee, the hotel's Scandinavian restaurant.
