U.S. President Barack Obama will attempt to give the upcoming climate talks in Paris an early boost by meeting his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the summit’s opening day. White House officials announced Tuesday that Obama would meet with the two leaders on Nov. 30 to “send a strong message to the world about their strong commitment to climate change,” according to Reuters. “These two countries are two of our most important partners in dealing with global climate change,” Paul Bodnar, the White House National Security Council’s senior director for energy and climate change, told the news agency.
