Looks like STAR TREK and STAR WARS are set to have another competitor in the near future. While not quite as beloved and mainstream as those two series, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is a well-respected property in its own right. From the short-lived original series in the late 1970s, to the more recent (and more revered) mid-2000s series, BATTLESTAR certainly has the capacity to be a huge mainstream hit if handled properly.A live-action film has been in development since 1999, and several years after the run of the mid-2000 series, it seems like now is as good a time as any to trudge forth with a feature film.
