Public Invited To Help Improve North Nevada Avenue In Colorado Springs

North Nevada Avenue's problems aren't new. An aging city power plant, shabby motels, an assortment of industrial uses and unappealing public rights-of-way are among weaknesses identified a few years ago by business and community leaders. Now, as part of an ongoing effort to pump life into the area, the city of Colorado Springs is inviting the public to voice ideas about Nevada's woes - and how to fix them. The city last week launched an online survey to solicit comments about North Nevada, and next week will kick off a series of discussions to allow residents and business people input into creation of a long-term redevelopment plan.
