'questioning Return': A Novel About An American Grad Student In In Jerusalem, Unbound

For anyone who grew up Jewish in America in the late 1980s, Pittsburgh author Beth Kissileff’s debut novel, “Questioning Return,” will resonate deeply. The narrative has an almost Russian-novel quality, following each thought of the protagonist. For those who didn’t grow up Jewish in America in that time frame, the novel may be a more of a stretch.
